Clare L. E. Foster is a WGA screenwriter based in London and Los Angeles. After UCLA film school she worked with e.g. Mike Newell, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Geena Davis for companies such as Fox Searchlight, Film Four, New Line Cinema, Sony/The Bridge, and Dogstar Films/Disney adapting works by e.g. John Updike, Sebastian Faulks, Flora Fraser and Norman Lewis. Since the 1990s she has taught screenwriting, playwriting, film directing, and film and theatre history for Film Independent, UCLA, UCL and the University of Cambridge.

Her short film ‘The Lemon Tree’ was broadcast on the UK’s Channel 4, her play ‘A Progress Report’was runner up for the Marlowe Society’s Other Prize, and her short story ‘Jupiter’s Moons’ was selected for a masterclass at the UK’s National Writers Workshop.  She’s excited to be developing a feature script about Archbishop Desmond Tutu (‘Boy’) with John Allen (based on his authorized biography, ‘Rabble Rouser For Peace’) and his grandson Biso Tutu-Xgashe.
